We've had some progress today and yesterday! Brinley has started standing up. She has to have me close by so she can hold on to me (I think it makes her feel secure) and she will use both legs to walk if I'm supporting her under her arms. Before, she wouldn't even ATTEMPT it. So I am feeling hopeful she will gradually build up some muscles and start walking again. That will be nice.

We're preparing for David, Tay, and Jade's Phoenix trip this morning. This will be the first soccer tournament I miss and I am feeling quite sad about it. The mom in me is sad to have to miss Taylor playing, and the Hanks in me is bummed to miss any fun! So I'm trying to stay positive and think about how nice it will be to just have Brinley and I spend some time together alone, but the jealousy bug keeps sneaking into my head. Oh well, hopefully we will be able to take a little trip together soon.

Walking! Great! Get some video! I still have vidoe of the first steps she took, which happened right in our house! We'll miss you two, too, when David, Tay and Jade come through Vegas. I hope this respite is good for you and Brinley.

Well, no, not walking. We have to hold her under her arms for her to take steps, and she has to be holding onto me even to stand up. I think it may be a little while before we see her making her own steps.

Hi David and Kristin! This is Sara Russell from the old Serene Ward. I was looking at some friends blogs and I randomly found your blog! My heart goes out you at this time! Your family must be going through such a hard time right now! Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. If you wouldn't mind, I would like to tell a few other friends in the old ward about your situation! You can either connect to our blog or email me at sarajrussell@hotmail.com. Keep staying strong!

hi kristin - i don't know if you'd even remember me, but we were in your ward for a short while in vegas. either i visit taught you or you visit taught me or we were partners - or chris & david were home teaching partners - i can't quite remember the connection! anyway, i found my way over from the russell's blog. i just wanted to let you know that we will be PRAYING for you and your sweet girl and your family. i can't imagine how difficult this experience must be, and i'm so very sorry! it looks like some of our kiddos are similar ages - we have 5 year old maya, 2 1/2 year old mason and i'm having another boy in about a week and a half. as a mama, my heart just breaks for you! i just read through all the posts and i'm so glad that things seem to be looking up and going as well as can be expected. i'll be checking back often, and we will be thinking of you and praying for you all!
